Bring Back Our Girls – A Poem
Written by Verna L. Hamilton

Bring back our girls
Every one name by name
Bring back our girls
They were never yours to claim
Bring back our girls
Out of the forests and foreign lands
Bring back our girls
Shame and blood stains your hands

Bring back our girls
The heavens reveal your face
Bring back our girls
The world beholds your disgrace
Bring back our girls
There is no rock where you can hide
Bring back our girls
Cowardice makes for a bumpy ride

Bring back our girls
All brilliant, beautiful and brave
Bring back our girls
Princesses too free to be enslaved
Bring back our girls
We refuse to stop until you do
Bring back our girls
Believe we are coming for you

About Verna L. Hamilton

Unapologetic tea aficionado travels world, drinks tea, and pours out words. Shares her passion for the Camellia Sinensis plant in all its forms -- black, oolong, green, white, pu-erh -- and, if done well, doesn't discriminate against rooibos, herbals, tisanes or other infusions. Uses tea as a bridge towards bringing people together. Cups up! #DrinkTea
